Extreme Heat Kills Three People in Metro Manila

At least three people died of heat stroke in different areas of Metro Manila as summer temperature soars during the past few days due mainly to the effects of El Nino. A brief rain shower Tuesday did not help in lowering the temperature in the metropolis.
Extreme heat brought about by the effects of el nino has caused the death of at least three people in Metro Mnila and more elsewhere in the country.
ABS-CBN News reports:
Manila Police said that on April 10, a 50-year-old man was found lifeless at the corner of Ayala and Romualdez streets in Ermita. Two days later, a man only identified as “Tisoy” was also found dead at the corner of Doroteo Jose and Don Tomas Mapua streets in Sta. Cruz. On the same day, the body of another man was also found in front of the Light Railway Transit (LRT) Recto Station. Police blamed the deaths on the intense heat being experienced in Metro Manila during the past days.
Metro Manila's temperature hit more 35 degrees Celsius April 11, its hottest since January this year while the entire Philippines experienced its hottest last month when General Santos City's temperature soared to 36.6 degrees Celsius.
The Philippines' weather bureau, PAGASA said the country will continue to experience warm weather in the coming days as no inclement weather is forecast during the week.
