Pacquiao's Canadian Adviser Says the Filipino Boxer not retiring

Manny Pacquiao's Canadian adviser Michael Koncz says the Filipino WBO welterweight champion is not yet retiring from professional boxing. Pacquiao is currently campaigning in his home province in southern Philippines in his bid for a congressional seat in the coming May 10 national elections.

The popular Filipino boxer has been asked by his mother to quit boxing after his unanimous but boring fight last March 13 against Joshua Clottey of Ghana at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

Koncz said that even if Pacquiao wins in the coming May 10 elections , he thinks the pound-for-pound king will still fight because it is his means of livelihood. “Imagine the money he would lose in his every fight at least a minimum of $15 million if he stops boxing,” Koncz said.

Asked about the possibility of Pacquiao’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, Koncz said it was Mayweather who was making all the excuses to avoid a match with Pacquiao. He said Mayweather should not impose his conditions and terms for Manny to follow in their boxing match.

Meanwhile Pacquiao who joined the procession of the station of the cross last Friday in his province said he predicts a Mosley win over Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in their May 1 fight in Las Vegas. His trainer on the other hand thinks Mayweather will win the fight.
