Boxing trainer and former professional boxer Roger Mayweather is facing charges in court after a former woman boxer claimed she was bodily harmed by Mayweather in the apartment owned by the boxing trainer.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr.'s uncle and boxing trainer Roger Mayweather was charged by a woman for coercion, battery-strangulation and battery causing substantial bodily harm.

The woman, 26-year-old Melissa St. Vil, was the only person to testify at an evidentiary hearing on Friday, after which Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Pro-Tem James Gubler decided there was enough evidence to try Mayweather on coercion, battery-strangulation and battery causing substantial bodily harm charges.

Arraignment was set by the Judge on January 26 in Clark Country District Court. If convicted Mayweather could face three to 16 years in jail. The incident happened at an apartment owned by Roger Mayweather where Melissa St. VIl lives with Mayweather's tenant Cornelius Lott St. Vil claimed she figured in a scuffle with Mayweather when the trainer arrived.

She claimed Mayweather was angry to see her in the apartment with Lott. Melissa St. Vil is a former woman boxer while Roger Mayweather is a boxing trainer and former professional boxer.

Police reported Mayweather had injuries on the head and the side of his face, and his lawyers said they were from punches thrown by St. Vil. Roger Mayweather remains free and out on $13,000.00 bail.
